How does the G6 PTZ combine digital and optical zoom to create 10× hybrid zoom?
The G6 PTZ pairs a fixed wide-angle lens with a 5x telephoto lens. As you zoom in, the camera automatically switches from the wide-angle lens to the telephoto lens to deliver a smooth zoom experience.
Note: While you are still within the wide-angle lens's range, the camera relies on digital zoom which lowers recording resolution prior to switching to the telephoto lens.
What AI capabilities are available on the G6 PTZ?
The G6 PTZ supports person, vehicle, and animal detections as well as Face Recognition and License Plate Recognition.
Which lens is best for face and license plate recognition?
Prioritize the telephoto lens. Its tighter field of view and higher pixel density enable reliable face and license plate recognition over longer distances.
Does the G6 PTZ support patrol mode?
Yes. In patrol mode, the camera must dwell for at least 20 seconds at each waypoint before moving to the next.
Does the G6 PTZ support auto-tracking?
Yes. The camera can automatically track subjects and zoom in on them.
